A son and two accomplices allegedly robbed his father in Delhi at gunpoint, stealing ₹10 lakh to fund a lavish lifestyle. Cash and scooter recovered; weapon traced to Munger.
In a bid to earn easy money to support a lavish lifestyle, a 21-year-old man from Delhi allegedly planned and carried out an armed robbery against his father to steal ₹10 lakh. The pistol used in the crime was obtained from Bihar's Munger for ₹45,000. The accused, Tavleen alias Rehat, and his two associates, Mohit Kumar Tiwari and Pankaj, both 22, are now in custody following arrests. The incident unfolded when the complainant, riding a scooter with a friend, was ambushed in East Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area by Tavleen and Mohit, who were wearing masks. Mohit sat behind Tavleen on the scooter and fired two shots in the air to intimidate the victim, while Pankaj helped plan and execute the robbery.
The crime was reported on March 31, and a case was registered at the Laxmi Nagar police station. Police reviewed more than 200 CCTV clips from the area and nearby routes to identify the suspects. The trio reportedly fled to Bihar after the incident, with Mohit and Tavleen allegedly boarding a private bus from Anand Vihar. They were intercepted later at the Lucknow Toll Plaza and arrested. During the investigation, officials learned that the pistol used in the robbery originated from Munger and had been acquired for ₹45,000. The stolen cash and the scooter used in the crime were recovered, and authorities are continuing efforts to recover the weapon and trace its source. All three suspects have been arrested and are in judicial custody.
