This news about a major airline selling decades of its operational and employee data to a tech giant for AI training is seriously unsettling. We're talking 34 years of everything from flight schedules to detailed employee records, even crew pairings, all going for $10 million! While they claim customer data is excluded and it's just for 'AI improvement,' the flight attendants' union is rightfully furious. They argue sensitive employee info should never be up for grabs, especially when these individuals never consented to their data being used to train AI systems. This really opens up a huge can of worms about data privacy, especially for former employees who thought their information was secure. Are companies allowed to just liquidate our past for a quick buck? This feels like a massive breach of trust and a scary precedent for the future of privacy in the age of AI.
