It's so refreshing to hear eminent scientist M.P. Parameswaran remind us that the true goal of science isn’t just endless production or mindless consumption, but creating conditions for everyone to live happily! He said this while inaugurating the second International Science Film Festival in Thrissur, and his message that kids shouldn't set making money as their only life goal really struck a chord with me. We are so obsessed with hustle culture that we forget what science and education are actually for. Plus, how cool is it that the district panchayat is planning to train students and teachers to create 100 locally made science films for the next festival? Movies like 'Engane Engane Engane' and 'Pride of Kerala' are already setting a great standard. Kudos to the organizers for making science accessible and fun through cinema!
