Leon Bridges Drops New Album Details & EP: Get Ready for "Happiness Anytime"!

Get ready for a dose of soulful joy! Grammy-winning artist Leon Bridges has officially announced his new album, "Happiness Anytime," slated for release on September 25th via Columbia Records. To give fans an early taste of what's to come, he has also dropped a four-song EP featuring tracks from the upcoming record.

The highly anticipated album sees Bridges collaborating with J Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kitto of the acclaimed British neo-soul group Jungle, who are helming the production. This exciting partnership blossomed after Bridges crossed paths with the duo at various festivals. Their creative synergy was immediate, leading to an intense four-day writing session that birthed six tracks, making up half of the album. Further recording took place at Chaplin Recording Studio in Los Angeles, featuring the legendary bassist Pino Palladino, known for his work with D’Angelo, Adele, and John Mayer.

Bridges describes "Happiness Anytime" as a "timeless, effortless body of work — nothing fussy or over-intellectualized" that is guaranteed to bring listeners joy. He shared his personal vision for the album in a statement, saying, "I want this album to be something that lingers with people and lingers in people’s bones. There’s this feeling that we have to fix the problems of the world; you feel inadequate or it can be debilitating. My role is to be light. I hope that comes across with this album."

The previewing EP features the tracks “Light the Way,” “Tears of Joy,” “Illusion,” and “Your Love Is Electric.” These songs embody a joyful and international sound, drawing inspiration from diverse artists such as Fela Kuti, Paul Simon, and Bobby McFerrin, truly living up to the album's uplifting title.
