Greg Freeman, the acclaimed indie rock and alternative country songwriter, has exciting news for his fans: a new album titled "All Set The Bone" is on its way, accompanied by an extensive 2026 fall North American tour. To give listeners a taste of what's to come, Freeman has released the lead single, "Indu," which is now available for streaming.
"All Set The Bone" is scheduled for release on October 2nd, brought to you by Transgressive Records and Canvasback Music. The album was produced by the renowned John Congelton and marks a significant period of change for Freeman. He recently relocated from his long-time home in Burlington, Vermont, to the Southwest, and recorded the album in a Hollywood studio. This transition also saw him leave behind his previous odd jobs to dedicate himself entirely to his music career.
Freeman describes "All Set The Bone" as "a reflection of a lot of change, and a lot of tension." While retaining influences from artists like early Modest Mouse and Pavement, his sound has evolved to incorporate new inspirations such as Fugazi, Unwound, Big Star, and Mission to Burma. The lead single "Indu" showcases a poppy indie vibe, reminiscent of his Pavement influence, featuring his signature "bedroom-noodling" guitar style, which has matured into an art form. His distinct, cracking wail adds a poetic and romantic touch to lines like, "All I want to do/ Is look at you/ Looking at me with the moonlight in your eyes/ These days come so quick/ These nights go so quick now." This new album follows his 2025 release, "Burover."
Fans will have multiple opportunities to catch Freeman live on his 23-date North American tour, kicking off on October 20th in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at The Sinclair. The tour includes stops in major cities such as Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, and New York, before concluding on November 21st in South Burlington, Vermont, at Higher Ground Ballroom. Before embarking on his North American journey, Freeman will also be touring across the UK and Europe.
