This highly anticipated record follows her excellent 2025 release "If You Asked for a Picture" and her critically lauded 2023 self-titled LP, promising an evolution in her signature sound and thematic depth.
Teitelbaum expressed a newfound sense of creative freedom during the making of "Violins." She shared that she felt no need to "overexplain anything," trusting her audience more, and added, "It feels like every time I make a record, I get closer to making the thing that I really want to make." This freedom allowed her to delve into profound thematic interests, exploring the balance between the world’s violence and beauty, as well as navigating troubled friendships, religion, the body, and the often-unglamorous journey of healing.
Sonically, "Violins" is described as a collection marked by "grandeur, drama, and tragedy."
