Father John Misty has released a new single, "The Payoff," his first new song since last year’s "The Old Law" and a continuation of the Mahashmashana era. The Payoff was written by Josh Tillman, arranged by Drew Erickson, and co-produced by Erickson and Tillman. Michael Harris handled mixing at Fivestar Studios and Adam Ayan did the mastering. Live plans have also lit up the calendar. Misty has extended his touring schedule for 2026, including a June 12 show at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, a date added after the LIDO Festival’s rescheduling.
