Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that nearly 60 drones heading towards the capital were intercepted. While emergency services are actively working at debris sites, no casualties or significant damage have been reported in the capital itself. However, a "massive" drone attack also hit the Tula region, located approximately 180 km south of Moscow. Dmitry Milyaev, the region's governor, stated that a private residential house in the Shchekino district was damaged, resulting in one woman being wounded.
Ukraine has intensified its long-range drone strike campaign against Russian targets in recent months. These attacks have particularly focused on energy infrastructure, with the apparent aim of disrupting Russia's vital revenue streams used to fund its military efforts, now in their fifth year. Just last week, a Ukrainian attack reportedly caused a fire at a refinery in southeastern Moscow, highlighting the continued targeting of such crucial facilities.
