Slipknot Unleashes "Arsenal": First New Music Since Sid Wilson's Shocking Exit!

Masked metal giants Slipknot have made a thunderous return with a jarring surprise new single titled 'Arsenal.' This track marks their first new music in three years and arrives amidst significant lineup changes, following the departure of longtime turntablist Sid Wilson and the introduction of drumming powerhouse Eloy Casagrande. The release of 'Arsenal' was accompanied by a typically nightmarish music video, masterfully directed by M Shawn 'Clown' Crahan.

Starring Jackson White, the video perfectly complements the track's harsh, fever-dream aesthetic. Frontman Corey Taylor's raw intensity is palpable as he spits defiant lyrics, declaring he “fought a fucking god and the god lost.” He also takes aim at naysayers with a powerful warning:

I know I'm a hack and a has-been, but motherf*cker I'm a .45 and not a Mach 10.

Fans have been quick to point out the prominent turntable scratching featured in 'Arsenal,' a detail that has sparked considerable discussion given Sid Wilson's recent, controversial exit from the band.

Guitarist Jim Root initially tried to quell rumors surrounding Wilson's status early last month, advising fans “don't believe everything you read.” However, the band later posted, and swiftly deleted, a statement confirming they would “no longer be associated” with the keyboardist and turntablist. Adding to the intrigue, Wilson subsequently updated his Instagram profile to reflect his time in the band as “1997-2026.” Notably, Sid Wilson does not appear in the new music video, and recent press photos conspicuously show only eight members, rather than the usual nine.

This release also marks the first time Eloy Casagrande, who joined in 2024, is featured as the band's drummer, taking over from Jay Weinberg.

Looking ahead, the future of Slipknot appears busy.

Back in July, Jim Root revealed that the band has “so much material” and is actively working on a new album.
