Hollywood's action legend, Tom Cruise, recently shared some fascinating insights into his experience sitting next to pop superstar Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game. During his appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, Cruise revealed that Swift wasn't just there for the show; she was actively "schooling" him on the intricacies of American football!
The two megastars caused a stir when they were spotted together at the Chiefs' first game of the season. Cruise, who also attended Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour in London in 2024 and her wedding to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, spoke glowingly about the singer. "First of all, she's a genius.
I've been following her since she was a kid," he told Fallon, adding that Swift and Kelce are "a beautiful couple and magical in their own right."
It seems Swift's football knowledge is more than just casual fan interest.
Cruise emphasized, "Oh, she knows her stuff," noting that while she "knew nothing about football when she met Travis," she has clearly become an expert. Beyond discussing plays and penalties, their conversation also touched on music and movies, highlighting their shared passion for their respective crafts.
Cruise didn't stop at praising her football acumen. He lauded Swift's creative talents, calling her "funny" and highlighting her "great sense of humor." He went on to describe her as "a brilliant writer also, by the way.
A brilliant musician and director - very skilled." Swift's directorial endeavors include numerous music videos and the critically acclaimed 2021 "All Too Well: The Short Film," with plans for a feature directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures in the pipeline.
The "Top Gun" star's interview also briefly touched upon rumors about his new film "Digger," directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
When asked if it was a musical, Cruise playfully responded, "No, but I think it's a very good idea." He even broke into song and dance with Fallon, suggesting a "Digger the musical" could be in the cards.
Fans can look forward to more from Cruise as his "Digger" press tour continues, including an upcoming appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce's "New Heights" podcast.
