Brandon Flowers, the charismatic frontman of The Killers, is set to release his first solo album in over a decade, titled Thrasher, marking an exciting and unexpected dive into country-western music. While The Killers are synonymous with rock anthems, Flowers reveals that his musical upbringing was also deeply influenced by his father's love for country legends like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. This rootsy Americana sound has always subtly threaded through some of The Killers' work, notably on their albums Pressure Machine (2021) and Sam's Town (2006), but it's never been the singular focus—until now.
Recorded last July in Nashville's iconic RCA Studio A, Thrasher is slated for an August release. Produced by Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, Thrasher aims to complement The Killers’ existing catalogue rather than divert from it. Flowers reassured fans, stating, “This is not me running away from rock & roll. I don’t want to replace my old songs. I simply found room for more.”
