Recent drama surrounding major short story competitions proves that we’ve all become AI cops, constantly scrutinizing prose for a whiff of algorithmic rhythm instead of actually feeling the art. It’s exhausting. Even if you aren’t using LLMs, the mere existence of technology has tainted the well of trust. Why are we so obsessed with policing the process rather than the final emotional impact? Some famous creative rebels are already embracing these tools, arguing that if the "truth" of a story survives the machine, it shouldn't matter what held the pen.
