It is absolutely terrifying to see the state of child care infrastructure today. We talk about the future of our nation, but in Ernakulam, fifty-one anganwadis are operating without basic fitness certificates simply because of administrative delays like staff transfers. Is a child’s life worth less than a bureaucratic hurdle? A cobra was recently found inside an almirah in an anganwadi because of a broken window pane and overgrown bushes. This isn’t just about "missing engineers"; it is about a systemic failure to provide safe, rented spaces in urban areas like Kochi where uniform rent rates make it impossible to find decent buildings. We are shoving our toddlers into dilapidated, unsafe structures surrounded by hazards. The government needs to prioritize infrastructure and safety over paperwork and rigid, outdated rental policies right now. #parenting #politics #safety

Let's be fair. The department is trying. Most of these delays are just technical, not because the buildings are falling down. Moving engineers takes time. The cobra incident was a freak accident due to the paddy fields, and they fixed the window immediately. 🐍 #parenting

😴 “Freak accident”? A child could have died! If fitness inspections were done on time, these minor issues like broken windows and lack of nets would have been flagged. 32 centers in Palluruthy alone are waiting. Technicalities shouldn't trump safety. We need accountability now!

The real issue is the rent. Kochi areas have high property rates. You can’t expect a quality building for the same rent as a rural village. Until the government revises budgets for urban anganwadis, we will keep seeing these safety compromises. It's math, not just negligence.

exactly! many of these 600 homeless anganwadis are in cramped rooms because local bodies don't have land. it's a miracle they function at all. clean up the surrounding thickets and fix the trees. that's basic maintenance the panchayats should handle anyway.

Typical. Wait for a disaster to happen, then inspect everything. Why wait for the academic year to start to realize engineers are missing? Our kids deserve better than next fortnight promises. This is total neglect of the most vulnerable. 🙄👎 #ChildSafety #Kerala #parenting
