This is officially the first K-pop song to ever win an Oscar, which is a massive win for the genre. But I’m honestly so mad they cut EJAE’s speech short!
She was finally getting to the heart of what this win meant. On the other side of things, Paul Thomas Anderson's 'One Battle After Another' basically swept the floor with six wins, including Best Picture and Best Director. Sean Penn winning Best Supporting Actor feels like a total throwback, and Jessie Buckley taking Best Actress over Rose Byrne was definitely a choice that has people talking.
