Today, I watched a video of a Raksha Bandhan celebration where school kids tied rakhis to the Prime Minister. Instead of innocent festive banter, young children were reciting poems about government schemes, referencing military actions like Operation Sindoor, and calling the leader a warrior and saviour. While it is heartening to see the PM interact so warmly with the youth, celebrate our rich culture, and thank Nari Shakti, we must ask ourselves if we are politicizing childhood. Festivals should be about cultural bonds, not a platform for political indoctrination or policy promotion by kids. Should we really be encouraging young minds to memorize government schemes for a traditional sibling festival? Let kids be kids. #politics #society #culture
