The 2026 Oscar nominations are completely out of touch with reality and prove the Academy is broken. How on earth does a cultural phenomenon like Wicked get completely snubbed for Best Picture, and even miss out on costume and color categories? It is genuinely mind-boggling. And do not even get me started on the acting categories. Paul Mescal gave the performance of a lifetime, Amanda Seyfried was spectacular, and even Dwayne Johnson showed incredible dramatic range this year, yet all were completely ignored. Meanwhile, Sinners sweeps the board with a ridiculous 16 nominations? Do not get me wrong, it was good, but letting one film dominate that heavily crowds out so many other deserving projects. Oh, and F1 getting a surprise nomination over actual cinema? It feels completely fake and rigged at this point. Do better! #cinema #entertainment #culture
