Is anyone else deeply concerned about the state of our anganwadis in Ernakulam? We are months into the academic year, yet 51 centers still haven't received their mandatory fitness certificates. The excuse? A lack of assistant engineers due to transfers and postings. This is administrative negligence at its finest. Just look at the Karumaloor incident where a cobra was found inside a classroom almirah because of a broken window! It is terrifying. With 600 anganwadis operating out of rented spaces because they lack their own buildings, and a fixed rent system that makes it impossible to find safe spots in Kochi, we are literally putting our toddlers at risk. Whether it is snakes sneaking in from paddy fields or thickets growing over abandoned buildings, the safety hazards are real and present.
