Are we merely a collection of tissues, veins, and firing neurons, or is there a nonmaterial essence, a soul or consciousness, that transcends our physical bodies? As science advances, the biological explanation becomes stronger, mapping every thought to a chemical reaction. But somehow, reducing human experience, love, art, and grief to mere biology feels incredibly incomplete. If we are just flesh and bone, where does our profound sense of self come from?
