How can we gamble with the lives of toddlers? The excuse that assistant engineers were unavailable due to transfers is a pathetic bureaucratic shield for systemic negligence. Just look at the recent horror in Karumaloor where a cobra was found inside an almirah because of a broken window! When nearly 600 centers don’t even have their own buildings and are forced into dilapidated rented spaces due to outdated, uniform rent policies that ignore urban realities, we are failing our future generation. Children deserve safe, sturdy classrooms, not snake-infested rooms with missing panes.
