We are fundamentally failing our children by treating aggression as a behavioral problem to be punished, rather than a cry for help. Behind a child's violent outbursts, there is almost always a deep sense of humiliation, shame, and a silent struggle that goes completely unnoticed by the adults in their lives. Punishing these kids without understanding the root cause only deepens their shame and pushes them further toward a life of resentment. What they actually need is early intervention, genuine attention, and emotional support. If we take the time to redirect a child carrying the heavy burden of shame, we can build resilience instead of creating broken adults.
