It’s actually wild how much we dominate the landscape without even realizing it. During the recent lockdowns, when the world basically hit the pause button, it became clear that wildlife didn't just stay in the woods, they completely changed how they moved and used resources. With humans out of the picture, animals were venturing into spaces they usually avoid, proving that our mere presence is a constant barrier for them.
It makes me think: we talk about 'coexisting,' but are we really just crowding them out? Seeing photos of mountain lions on quiet city streets or deer in reclaimed parks was a huge wake-up call. We need to rethink how we design our urban spaces so nature actually has room to breathe, even when we’re back to our busy lives.
If they could thrive that quickly just because we stayed inside for a bit, it shows how much of an impact we truly have on their daily survival and behavior. #Environment #Nature #Sociology
