Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman recently concluded a high-level visit to Beijing, where he secured a crucial assurance from China regarding the Teesta River Comprehensive Management and Restoration Project. During his visit from June 24-26, Mr. Rahman engaged with top Chinese officials, including Premier Li Qiang, President Xi Jinping, and Water Resources Minister Li Guoying.
The discussions centered on China's commitment to expedite a feasibility study for the Teesta project, which aims to significantly alter the physical landscape of the Teesta River within Bangladesh.
