It's heartbreaking to see our children losing their native Kyrgyz tongue because the tech giants prioritize Russian content. Even when we search specifically for Kyrgyz cartoons or educational videos, the algorithm pushes Russian alternatives because they have higher view counts. It’s a form of digital colonialism that threatens the very fabric of our cultural identity.

We survived decades of political occupation only to potentially lose our language to a recommendation engine. If we don’t demand better localization and linguistic representation from these platforms, our children will grow up disconnected from their heritage. Our language defines who we are, and seeing it sidelined by an automated system is a crisis that every parent and citizen should be deeply worried about right now.
