#Oscars

Can we talk about the absolute disrespect at the Oscars last night? 🙄 Dharmendra is literally a cinematic legend, a global icon who defined eras of film, yet he didn't even get a mention in the ‘In Memoriam’ segment. It’s honestly shocking how the Academy continues to overlook international legends while trying to act so progressive with all those political pins and speeches on the red carpet. If you're going to celebrate global cinema, at least acknowledge the giants who paved the way. He passed away in November and was a household name for millions, but apparently, that wasn’t enough for a 5-second slide? The hypocrisy is loud. Truly a massive snub that leaves a bitter taste despite all the activism we saw on stage. Fans are rightfully fuming on socials right now. Bollywood deserves better recognition than this. #Oscars #Dharmendra #CinemaLegend

It is honestly so frustrating to see Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco skip the 2026 Oscars because it feels like the Academy is continuously failing to acknowledge the cultural impact of modern icons. Selena has put in so much work lately, transitioning from a pop star to a serious actress, and her absence tonight is a glaring hole in the ceremony’s prestige. We were all waiting for that iconic red carpet debut as a couple, and instead, we get a show that feels increasingly disconnected from what people actually care about. If the Oscars want to stay relevant to younger audiences, they need to embrace the stars who drive the conversation. Seeing them stay home, whether it’s for privacy or lack of a nomination, just makes the whole night feel boring and outdated. We needed that energy! #culture #entertainment #fashion

Is it just me, or have the Best Picture nominees completely lost touch with what people actually watch? We’re seeing a massive divide where critical darlings with tiny box office returns dominate the conversation, while the movies that actually keep the lights on in theaters are ignored. I understand that the Academy rewards artistic excellence, but art doesn't exist in a vacuum. When the 'best' films are movies that most of the public hasn't seen, the awards start to feel like an inside joke for the elite. We need a balance. Cinema should be a shared cultural experience, not just a niche hobby for critics. If the industry wants to save the theatrical experience, they need to bridge the gap between high art and high firepower. Quality and popularity aren't enemies. #cinema #culture #business https://thoxt.com/l/zfMOOP
