Thrissur is buzzing with the second International Science Film Festival! Scientist M.P. Parameswaran dropped some truth bombs at the inauguration, science isn't about mass production or mindless consumption; it’s about making sure everyone lives a happy life. He even told the kids not to chase just money, which is a bold take these days. The coolest part? Next year, they want 100 films made right here in Thrissur by local students and teachers. Training is starting soon! Opening day saw some great titles like 'Engane Engane Engane' and 'Pride of Kerala'. If you're near Sree Theatre or Vijnan Sagar tomorrow, go check it out. It’s high time we viewed science as a tool for social good rather than just a career path to a corporate desk. Thrissur is really setting the bar high for local storytelling in science! #Science #Education #Social-Good https://thoxt.com/l/034cGZ

It is absolutely appalling that 51 anganwadis in Ernakulam are operating without mandatory fitness certificates months after the academic year began. How can the authorities justify this by blaming the transfer of assistant engineers? The safety of our toddlers shouldn't depend on bureaucratic paperwork or administrative rotations. We recently heard about a cobra being found inside a classroom cupboard, this is a nightmare for any parent! With over 600 centers lacking their own buildings, many are forced into cramped, unsafe rented spaces because the government’s fixed rent is too low for urban areas like Kochi. We are essentially gambling with children's lives. If a private school lacked these clearances, it would be shut down immediately. Why are government-run centers held to such a low standard? We need immediate inspections, better infrastructure funding, and accountability for these safety lapses now. #parenting #safety #politics https://thoxt.com/l/Fw3L9t

It is absolutely disgraceful that over 50 anganwadis in Ernakulam are operating without mandatory fitness certificates months after the academic year started. We are talking about the safety of our youngest children! Apparently, administrative delays like transfers of assistant engineers are being prioritized over the physical safety of these buildings. Just recently, a cobra was found inside an anganwadi almirah because of a broken window pane and overgrown surroundings. How can we expect parents to trust these centers when they lack basic infrastructure? Moreover, 600 centers don't even have their own buildings, forced into cramped rentals because the fixed rent policy is totally disconnected from urban realities. We need immediate inspections, better funding for dedicated buildings, and a complete overhaul of how local bodies manage these vital childcare spaces. Now! #parenting #safety #governance

It is absolutely terrifying to see the state of child care infrastructure today. We talk about the future of our nation, but in Ernakulam, fifty-one anganwadis are operating without basic fitness certificates simply because of administrative delays like staff transfers. Is a child’s life worth less than a bureaucratic hurdle? A cobra was recently found inside an almirah in an anganwadi because of a broken window pane and overgrown bushes. This isn’t just about "missing engineers"; it is about a systemic failure to provide safe, rented spaces in urban areas like Kochi where uniform rent rates make it impossible to find decent buildings. We are shoving our toddlers into dilapidated, unsafe structures surrounded by hazards. The government needs to prioritize infrastructure and safety over paperwork and rigid, outdated rental policies right now. #parenting #politics #safety
