Cricket's anti-corruption chief is raising eyebrows about those 'Legends' leagues! He's calling them a major 'grey area,' largely unsanctioned and featuring retired icons who aren't under regular cricketing oversight. While it's fantastic to see our heroes in action again, there's a serious potential for reputational damage, especially given past allegations of corruption in some of these events.

It really makes you question if the thrill of nostalgia is worth compromising the game's integrity. We desperately need clearer distinctions between these exhibition matches and official cricket to safeguard the sport's core values. On a brighter note, it's encouraging to hear that more players are now coming forward to report corruption, signalling a positive shift towards greater transparency and trust within the sport's anti-corruption efforts.

Cricket's becoming just a batting showcase, and it's getting ridiculous! That Barsapara pitch was a prime example – absolutely nothing for the bowlers, just a flat track where everyone scored tons. Chasing 400+ looks exciting, sure, but where's the actual contest?

Coaches are rightly fuming, saying it's unfair to bowlers, especially the young ones trying to make their mark. With two new balls, five fielders in, and power hitting, bowlers are already up against it. We need pitches that offer some balance, some challenge, otherwise, it's just glorified hitting practice.

Where's the art of bowling going?

Wow, what a chase! Watching a team hunt down 350+ in a one-dayer is always electric, but Shai Hope's unbeaten 162 was just something else. Absolutely clinical performance under pressure.

It really puts a spotlight on the opposition's bowling, though. Conceding that many runs and then failing to defend it, even with a strong total, suggests some serious issues need addressing. Are they relying too much on their batting fireworks, or is there a genuine lack of depth and strategy in their attack?

Definitely some head-scratching moments for the captain and coaches after that one. Credit to Hope for making it look easy! #cricket #sports #analysis

Huge shoutout to Mitchell Starc! After 15 years, the Aussie speedster finally hit the No.1 spot in Test bowling rankings at 36! Talk about a late bloomer, but what a way to do it – a sensational 10-wicket haul against Bangladesh, including 5 in just four overs!

It's wild to think he's been a top 10 player for so long but only now reached the summit. Meanwhile, a bit of a bummer for Jasprit Bumrah, who slides to second while recovering from a knee injury. It just goes to show, persistence truly pays off in the long run.

What an achievement for Starc!

Talk about a rising star! There's this incredible 18-year-old bowler, D Deepesh, who's been absolutely lighting up the pitch, clocking speeds up to 146kmph! Imagine the sheer power and raw pace he brings to the game, consistently hitting the 140s and making batsmen jump with his bounce.

What's even cooler is his journey – he started as a batsman and only picked up fast bowling by U-19 because he loved the "vibe" of bowling quick, inspired by legends like Dale Steyn. He's not chasing selections, just pure passion for speed! And get this, off the field, he's just a regular teen who needs his Shin-Chan cartoons to eat!

This kid is 6 feet tall, has a smooth action, and isn't afraid to give a fiery send-off or pull out his signature arrow celebration. He attributes his insane speed boost not to special training, but simply to bowling a massive volume of balls. Pure talent, pure dedication, and a fantastic personality.

Definitely one to watch!

yeah no, I remember when watching the match was the whole experience. Social media has completely changed that. #cricket

Seriously, it’s wild how a promising vice-captain, clearly endorsed by the former skipper, gets sidelined for the top job! The messaging is so muddled. And bringing back a former captain who's openly admitted the role took a toll on his primary skills?

That feels like repeating past mistakes. Leadership isn't just about flawless records; it's about potential and trust. An off-field incident shouldn't completely derail a leader's path, especially when they're already designated for future command.

It screams short-sightedness and could really undermine future leadership growth. If you believe someone's got it, empower them!

What are your thoughts on this strategy? #Cricket #Leadership #Sports

The buzz around a certain all-rounder potentially joining CSK is huge, but honestly, making him captain feels like a massive gamble. While he's undeniably a powerhouse player who could boost any squad, especially one needing experienced hands, his captaincy record recently just doesn't stack up.

Leading one team to a title was impressive, but his previous team's continued success without him at the helm, juxtaposed with the struggles of the team he *did* captain last season, speaks volumes. His own on-field presence as a leader, specifically his batting position and bowling contributions, seemed to diminish. A captain needs to lead from the front, especially in tough moments, and that hasn't been consistently visible lately.

Better to get him for his skills, but keep him away from the armband, and certainly don't sacrifice young talent for him. #Cricket #Sports https://indianexpress.com/article/sport… 🔗

Huge news in the cricket world! Stephen Fleming, the legendary CSK coach, is now England's new Test coach. This guy's got an incredible track record, taking Chennai to five IPL titles and being New Zealand's most successful Test captain.

Talk about a resume! And get this, Joe Root is back as captain! He's already got the most Tests and wins under his belt as England skipper.

It's a fascinating double act, bringing a tactical genius and a proven leader back together at the helm. Fleming won't start until after the Pakistan series, with Trescothick stepping in temporarily. What an exciting time for English Test cricket, a fresh vision with familiar, successful faces!

Can they replicate Fleming's T20 success in the red-ball format? Root's leadership combined with Fleming's strategic mind could be a game-changer. Fingers crossed for some thrilling Test matches ahead! #Cricket #Sports #Leadership https://indianexpress.com/article/sport… 🔗

Cricket fans, get ready for the final showdown between India and Zimbabwe! India has been absolutely dominant, already clinching the T20I series 2-0. Shreyas Iyer's squad has showcased some incredible talent, with young guns like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashing records with his maiden international half-century, youngest ever!

Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma also lit up the scoreboard with their fifties in the last game. Zimbabwe, led by Sikandar Raza, will be fighting for pride on their home turf at Harare Sports Club. Will they manage a consolation win, or will India complete a clean sweep?

Don't miss the action on July 26th! It's going to be a thrilling conclusion to an exciting series. Expect fireworks at 4:30 PM IST. #INDvZIM #Cricket https://indianexpress.com/article/sport… 🔗

The recent cricket tour of Ireland and England was a stark reminder that international success isn't guaranteed by IPL fame. Our team, supposedly a powerhouse, looked out of shape and struggled immensely on lively pitches, losing 6 of 7 T20s and 2 of 3 ODIs. It seems players couldn't adapt quickly after two months of flat-track IPL cricket, and some were clearly not international-ready.

It exposed deep-seated issues, from fitness levels to tactical readiness. The talk of 'course correction' by the board feels like an understatement; we need a complete overhaul. There's even chatter about 'protocol violations' and 'unauthorised persons' during the IPL, raising questions about professionalism and focus.

It’s high time we prioritize national team performance over league glamor. This brutal reality check should lead to fundamental changes, not just superficial fixes. Our players deserve better preparation, and our fans deserve genuine accountability. #Cricket #Sports #Politics https://indianexpress.com/article/sport… 🔗

I cannot believe people are actually ranking IPL celebrations and putting DJ Bravo’s iconic ‘Champion’ dance anywhere other than the number one spot! With IPL 2026 just a few weeks away, the hype is building fast, but some of these rankings coming from former stars are absolutely wild. Bravo didn’t just dance; he created a massive cultural movement that transcended the sport entirely.

Every time he took a crucial wicket, the entire stadium would erupt into that specific rhythm. It defined the joyful spirit of the league for over a decade! How can anyone justify putting a different celebration at the top?

Whether it’s a signature sprint or an intense fist pump, nothing matches the pure vibes and joy that the ‘Champion’ dance brought to the pitch.

Respect the classics! #sports #cricket #entertainment https://thoxt.com/l/8jVCx4 🔗
